Tyler Horst Nutritional Center

We have partnered with Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania to establish the Tyler Horst Nutritional Center. The Nutritional Center is located in Nelson Field House. This center gives BU student athletes nutritional snacks and beverages free of charge. Fully stocked and open daily, our center fulfills pre and post workout needs. We encourage the athletes to benefit from the nutrition center by fueling sufficiently and staying healthy throughout their season.

The Tyler Horst Nutritional Center has been such an amazing addition to the student-athlete experience here at Bloomsburg. It gives our student-athletes the opportunity to properly fuel their bodies to enhance their performances on the field and in the classroom,” Shannon Hertz, Head Women’s Lacrosse Coach.

“Whenever I walk in (to the nutrition center) I look at the picture of Tyler and remember the determination he had toward his goal of becoming a Navy SEAL. I never met a more mentally/physically strong person in my life. He would run miles upon miles before anyone was even awake, eat breakfast, and go work out some more. The Nutrition Center here at Nelson Field house means more to me than just simply picking up a protein shake, Gatorade, or nutrition bar. Every time I walk in here, I think back on his work ethic and strive to be as hard a worker as he was. This room isn’t just a Nutrition Center. It’s a monument to Tyler, for the relentless work ethic and relationships he had here on the hill. As a son, brother, and friend.” -Joe Kahn, Football student-athlete

“Every time I take a player in, we think of Tyler and the values he embodied! The center is impacting many student athletes!”

Frank Sheptock, Head Football Coach.

“The Tyler Horst Nutritional Center is proving to contribute to the overall student-athlete experience as student-athletes do not need to scramble for a snack or drink to help them with their recovery after a workout that sees them heading directly to a class or class project.  Bloomsburg University Women’s Soccer is thankful to the Horst Family and all those that contribute to honor Tyler’s memory.  We appreciate you,”

Matt Haney, Head Women’s Soccer Coach.
